Addressing the Skilled Labor Shortage

Australia is experiencing a significant shortage of skilled tradespeople, affecting sectors like construction, manufacturing, and logistics. The Housing Industry Association (HIA) reports that competition for skilled workers remains intense, with the home building industry competing against a large public infrastructure pipeline. To combat this, initiatives are underway to boost training and apprenticeship programs. For instance, a new $10 million trade training facility has opened at Charles Darwin University's Casuarina campus, aiming to support the growth of the Northern Territory's construction industry.
