Westpac has reversed its decision to go cashless by announcing the reopening of bank branches in regional areas, including Moree (NSW), Leongatha (Victoria), and Smithton (Tasmania). This move responds to community demand for in-person banking services and aims to support regional economies, which contribute 30% to Australia's GDP. The bank plans to employ 150 new business bankers over the next three years.
